Methods to Setup Orbi Satellite in Minutes

Please note that before setting up your Orbi satellite, be sure that the router is already set up via Orbi app or Orbi router login interface.

• Setup via Sync Button

Both the Orbi router and satellites have a button on the back called Sync button. It works like the WPS button. By pressing it on both of the devices, a connection between them gets established. Follow steps to make a successful link between the devices:

1. Plug & Power the router and satellites at your desired positions in home.

2. After a full boot, press the Sync button on the satellite once.

Satellite’s Ring LED will start blinking/Flashing white light, means the device is searching for the router signal.

1. Then within two minutes press sync button on the router.

Router’s Ring LED will flash white light, means router is searching for satellite’s signals.

1. Wait until both the devices stops flashing white and turns solid white light. It means the devices are connected.

• Setup via Orbi App

The other method how to setup Orbi satellite with the router is via Orbi app. You should have the app in your phone and must have a Netgear account for orbi router login. Follow these steps to connect the satellites with the router via app:

Before setup, power both satellites and router (using adapter) at your desired location in your house.

1. Open the Orbi app in your mobile.

2. Access it with MyNetgear account or any previous Orbi credentials.

You can also use admin credentials to access. The default username is: admin and password is: password.

1. Enter the credentials and access the app. Here, tap Add New Satellite.

2. The app will search all local area networks. Choose your satellite’s network.

Wait until the satellites connect with the router and after that you can join the extended network.

• Setup via Orbilogin.net

One more way to set up Orbi satellites is via web-based interface in your computer. Below steps will guide you through the whole process from start to end:

1. Turn on your satellites near the router.

2. Connect computer with router SSID network via Ethernet cable or SSID.

3. Open the bowser and search for URL orbilogin.net or orbilogin.com or IP address 192.168.1.1.

4. A login page will show on the screen, wherein you must enter the admin username and password.

If you never changed the admin password, then use the default admin username: admin and password: password.

1. Enter the admin details and access the interface. Now locate and click Add New Device.

2. Interface will ask you to connect with satellite network by selecting the satellite’s network name in Wi-Fi settings.

3. Then, click Connect to establish a link between the router and satellite.
